2008 Excavation Plans

A plaster cap was placed over several bones over the winter. Before this cap is removed, the overburden will be eliminated and volunteers will continue to go through the very productive bone layer. We are hopeful of finding hand, foot, and tail bones that will be eventually be used as part of a free standing Triceratops exhibit.

Bonie Butte

Tom Tucker located this site late in the 2007 field season. To date it has yielded a mostly articulated pelvis, numerous limb bones, dorsal vertebrae, and several ribs. Furthermore, several small and large theropod teeth have been uncovered associated with the bones. The bones are in beautiful condition and preparation over the winter may yield scavenge marks.
