Bull snake
A beautiful bull snake warming himself in the morning sunlight.

A rattle snake in a dried up pond. While rattle snakes are poisonous, they rarely bite humans that are not messing with them and instead rattle their tail to warm humans not to come any closer.

Hognose snake
Hognose snakes are a very rare sighting in the North Dakota badlands. These snakes have a variety of defense mechanisms to deter predators including inflating their necks and rolling over and playing dead.
